What is a Flood?

Flood insurance covers direct physical loss caused by “flood.” A Flood is defined as excess of water on land that is normally dry. Flood losses are excluded under homeowners insurance.  You must purchase a separate policy to cover this exposure.

The National Flood Insurance Program defines a flood as a general and temporary condition of partial or complete inundation of two or more acres of normally dry land area or of two or more properties (at least one of which is your property) from:

  • Overflow of inland or tidal waters
  • Unusual and rapid accumulation or runoff of surface waters from any source
  • Mudflow*, collapse, or subsidence of land along the shore of a lake or similar body of water as a result of erosion or undermining caused by waves or currents of water exceeding anticipated cyclical levels that result in a flood as defined above

Personal Umbrella

A Personal Umbrella Liability policy will provide additional protection for your assets should you become legally liable for an incident. This policy will go over your underlying homeowners or auto policy when those limits are exhausted. Call us today to go over this coverage and how it can help you.

Term Life

This is the most affordable type of life insurance. It covers you for a set amount of time, and once that term ends, so does your policy.

Whole Life

Whole life insurance covers you for your whole life. It comes with a cash value you can use to help pay for unexpected expenses, your children’s college tuition or a vacation.

Universal Life

Universal Life also covers you for your whole life much like Whole Life, however, it provides more flexibility and lets you change the amount of life insurance you get over time.

Bodily Injury Liability

Many states require drivers to carry state minimum limits to protect themselves and other drivers. Bodily Injury Liability will protect the driver of the other car and its passengers and your passengers for any medical expenses they incur during an accident caused by you.

Property Damage Liability

Property Damage Liability will pay for the repair and/or replacement of the other driver’s car in the event of an accident. It will also pay for property damage to buildings.

Medical Payments

Medical Payments will cover medical expenses to you and your passengers injured in an accident. Coverage applies regardless of who is at fault.

Uninsured Motorist

Uninsured Motorist coverage protects you when another driver is at-fault and has no insurance. You can choose to purchase this coverage to pay for the Bodily Injury and Property Damage when you are not legally liable for either.

Comprehensive Coverage

Comprehensive will provide coverage for any cause of loss other than collision. For example, hail damage or a tree falls on your vehicle.  This coverage will provide for repairs to your vehicle or give you a check for the actual cash value of your vehicle.

Collision

Collision will provide coverage for your vehicle after colliding into another vehicle. This coverage will provide for repairs to your vehicle or give you a check for the actual cash value of your vehicle.

Rental Car Reimbursement

Rental Car Reimbursement coverage will reimburse you for renting a vehicle while your vehicle is being repaired because of a covered accident.

Towing and Emergency Roadside Assistance

If you have elected this coverage, the policy will reimburse the dollar amount indicated in your policy, if you had your vehicle towed or your battery died.
